In the fall of 2000, Tamaqua Area School District closed its aging Junior High School and opened a state of the art middle school. In the process of building the new school, a new auditorium was constructed. The facility is comprised of a luxurious 887-seat hall complete with a 2,170 square foot, fully equipped and handicap-accessible stage. Its perimeter is surrounded by the district's secondary music program: choral, general music, and band rooms.
