Students complete these requirements during the first 9 weeks of the academic year. Activities focus on career exploration and decision making skills. Basic Interest Inventory programs are introduced.
Students must complete the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). Results from the testing are reviewed with the students during their 10th grade meeting with their individual counselor. Students must also complete a Job Shadowing experience. First page (absence permission slips) must be submitted a minimum of 48 hours prior to the date of the job shadowing experience.
Students must complete a Career Research paper in their 11th grade Economics Class. They must also complete a college visitation, college fair or career fair visitation. First page (absence permission slips) must be submitted a minimum of 48 hours prior to the college, college fair or career fair visitation.
Students must complete a resume in their 12th Grade Language Arts class. They must also complete the Career Community Resource worksheet which is available here on our website and in the Guidance Office.
All requirements must be completed by the first Friday in May of the student's senior year.
