Mrs. Heffelfinger
Hello and welcome to the Tamaqua Middle School's '24-'25 school year! My name is Amy Heffelfinger. I teach Learning Support Math and Science for grades 6-8. This is my fifth year of teaching and my third year of teaching at Tamaqua Middle School. Before teaching at TAMS, I was a Teacher Intern at the Centennial School of Lehigh University teaching grades 9-12, and through Lehigh University, I received my Master's in Special Education. Prior to Lehigh University, I attended Kutztown University where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education Social Studies (7-12) and Special Education.
I am a Tamaqua Alumna (Class of 2016)! I also previously worked as a paraprofessional for the Tamaqua Area School District. I am also a volunteer for the Tamaqua Drama Club's Stage Crew. I currently live in the wonderful Schuylkill County with my husband, daughter, and two fur babies.
My teaching philosophy is that anyone can learn! I am thrilled to have entered the educational field with a focus on Special Education as a Special Educator's true purpose is to find the many different, individualized ways that students learn best and to utilize those methods to give students the best educational experience we can!
My contact information can be found below. Thank you, and let's have a great school year!
