    First & Second Grade

    Dolch Sight Word List (First and Second Grade)

    Using CVC words
    CVCe pattern words

    R-controlled vowels
    Diphthongs
    Long vowels

    Third - Fifth Grades

    Students will be given explicit and systematic instruction in:

    Reading-
    Identify characters
    Identify problem/solution
    Character traits
    Identify setting
    Fact and Opinion

    Parts of Speech-
    Nouns- common, proper, singular, plural
    Verbs- action, linking, irregular, conjugation
    Pronouns- subject, object, possessive
    Adjectives- comparatives, superlatives
    Adverbs
    Conjunctions
    Interjections

    Writing-
    Informational
    Sequencing events
    Compare and contrast
    Persuasive
    Narratives
