The chorale is selected annually in May of each school year for the upcoming school year. The Jazz Chorale performs music from jazz, pop and show idioms. Only serious vocalists are encouraged to audition.

 

Since Mr. Buglio has taken over the Jazz Chorale in 1992, it has performed at a number of school and civic activities throughout the Schuylkill County area. Some of those performances being for the American Cancer Society's Annual Telethon as well as with the Pottsville Youth Symphony. The Jazz Chorale has performed for many local civic events such as "The Spirit of Christmas" as well as at a  number of retirement and nursing home facilities throughout the area.

 

The Jazz Chorale appears with the "Raider Band" each December at a holiday concert at the high school as well as with the Concert Choir each May in a spring choral concert. The chorale competes annually in the Trills & Thrills Music Festival in Hershey and is very proud to boast that the group has never received a rating less than "Excellent" and has received the festival's highest rating of "Superior"  a number of times.
