Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Melissa Scheetz
Hello everyone! I am so excited to be teaching science here at Tamaqua Elementary School. Science is a great passion of mine and I have a good deal of experience with many topics. I have been teaching for five years previous to beginning my career at Tamaqua and I was the leader of an after school hands on science club. I enjoy hands on experiments because I believe science should be an experience and not just a subject.
"Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge."
Before my career as a teacher, I was a room leader at U.C.P, working with infants and toddlers from the ages of 6 weeks to 18 months, in the early intervention program. From there, I became a nanny for a family of three and continue to be a part of their lives even today. I am very proud to say that the two oldest girls have inherited my love of science and have gone on to the University of Philadelphia to pursue careers in biomechanial engineering! I am hoping for the same of the youngest when he is through with high school.
Aside from loving science, I am also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. I go to the home games every chance I get.
I hope this is a great year for all of your students. If you need to get in touch with me please feel free to email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 570-668-3306. I also have a remind: enter the number 81010 and text this message
