I am so excited about being in 3rd grade at Tamaqua Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year! My career started in 2000 in the Halifax Area School District, where I taught 4th grade and 5th grade. While there, I had the unique opportunity to 'loop' with one class from 4th grade to 5th grade. I had the same students for two years in a row, and it was an amazing experience for all of us! After four years in Halifax, I moved back home to Tamaqua. I have taught 1st-5th grade reading, 3rd grade, 7th/8th grade math, elementary technology classes, and school age intervention here at Tamaqua. Although I've moved around a lot, 3rd grade has always been my home. In December of 2015, I was honored as one of 12 finalists for 2016 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year. As a 1992 THS graduate, I am honored to be teaching in the same school in which I was a student *many* years ago.
