In PA, every school must have an Elementary Student Assistance Program (ESAP).
An ESAP team is made up of a core team of specially trained school personnel to help students and families access school and community services. A student assistance program is designed to:
1.Identify high risk students who are having school problems due to alcohol or drug use, depression, or other mental health problems; and
2.Intervene and refer these students to appropriate community services.
