The Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws do not permit children under fourteen years of age to be employed at any time, either when the schools are in session or during vacation. No person under sixteen years of age may engage in any occupation when schools are in session except farm work or domestic services in a private home. Persons between the ages of sixteen and eighteen years may secure General Employment Certificates when schools are in session if they furnish:
- Legal proof of age (Example: birth certificate,baptismal certificate or drivers license).
- Student and parent/guardian need to be present at the district office to sign proper papers.
