    Monday, August 26, 2019 - Welcome back to school!  

    Tuesday, August 27, 2019 - No homework is due for class today.

    Wednesday, August 28, 2019 - No homework is due for class today.  Students will complete a textbook review during class.

    Thursday, August 29, 2019Today we will begin chapter five of the textbook.  A vocabulary worksheet will be due for class on Wednesday, September 5th.  This will be collected and graded for 12 points.  All terms can be found in the textbook glossary or throughout pages 200-205 of the textbook.  (*Vocabulary terms include:  Emancipation, Reconstruction, Debt, Pardon, Radical Republican, Pocket Veto, Freedman's Bureau, Labor, Presidential Reconstruction, Postwar, and The 10% Plan.)

    Friday, August 30, 2019 - No homework is due for class today.  We will continue discussing Lincoln's plan on how to reconstruct the South.  (*Students should have their binders to contain their history worksheets by this day.  If they cannot purchase one, please have them see me before class.) 

    Monday, September 2, 2019 - No school (Labor Day)

    Tuesday, September 3, 2019 - No homework is due for class today.

    Wednesday, September 4, 2019 - A vocabulary worksheet that was distributed in class on Thursday, August 29th is due today.  (*See above.)

    Thursday, September 5, 2019 - Chapter 5, section 1 practice quiz is due for class today.  Both sides of the worksheet will be graded.  Students should use their study guides to answer these questions.  We will review the answers together during class to prepare for Friday's quiz. 

    Friday, September 6, 2019 - Students will take a short quiz on chapter 5, section 1.  When finished they can copy next week's work into their planners.  No homework will be assigned over the weekend.  

    Monday, September 9, 2019 - No homework is due for class today.  We will begin chapter 5, section 2 during class.  A vocabulary worksheet will be given for students to complete by Wednesday.  

    Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - A study guide for chapter 5, section 2 will be distributed during class today.  We will complete the first half of the notes together.  When finished with the lesson students can complete work on their vocabulary sheet.  

    Wednesday, September 11, 2019 - Chapter 5, section 2 vocabulary worksheet is due today.  All terms can be found throughout pages 206-211.  This assignment will be collected and graded for eight points.  (*Terms include: Black Codes, Impeach, 14th Amendment, 13th Amendment, 15th Amendment, Carpetbaggers, Civil Rights, and Scalawags.)

    Thursday, September 12, 2019 - A short reading with two questions is due for class today along with a 10 question practice quiz.  We will review all answers together during class, and then take a short quiz on the information we reviewed.  When finished, students can copy next week's work into their planners, and pick up a vocabulary paper for chapter 5, section 3.  

    Friday, September 13, 2019 - No homework is due for class today.  We will begin chapter 5, section 3 on "The Birth of the New South."

    Monday, September 16, 2019 - Chapter 5, section 3 vocabulary worksheet is due for class today.  This assignment will be collected and graded for seven points. All vocabulary terms can be found throughout pages 212-216 of the textbook. (*Terms include: Sharecropper, Tenant Farmer, Cash Crop, Merchant Store, Infrastructure, "New South", and Corruption.)

    Tuesday, September 17, 2019 - No homework is due for class today.  We will continue with the lesson from chapter 5, section 3.  

    Wednesday, September 18, 2019 - Chapter 5, section 3 practice quiz is due for class today.  We will review all answers to this worksheet before taking a short quiz on the information.  When finished students can take a worksheet listing the vocabulary terms for chapter 5, section 4.  This worksheet will be due tomorrow.  

    Thursday, September 19, 2019 - Chapter 5, section 4 vocabulary terms are due today.  All terms can be found throughout pages 218-221 of the textbook.  (*Terms include:  Solid South, Enforcement Act, Kuklos, Grand Wizard, Corruption, and The Compromise of 1877.)  

    Friday, September 20, 2019 - All history quarter one AR approvals are due today!

    Monday, September 23, 2019 - No homework is due for class today.  Students will receive a study guide for chapter 5, section 4, and we will take notes together during class.
