The Natatorium, which is located in the Tamaqua Area High School facility, is the home to the high school boys' and girls' swimming and diving programs.  It is also used by the Tamaqua YMCA aquatic programs. 

    In the summer of 2001, the natatorium when through a complete renovation project.  The pool was deepened from 10' to 12', a new drainage system was put in place along with an automatic chlorinator.

    This 6-lane pool is handicap accessible in the shallow end where the depth is 3' 6".

    Other new recent additions to the Natatorium:
      * State-of-the-art Colorado Touch Pad Timing System and Scoreboard
      * 2 Diving Boards
      * Six Starting Blocks (purchased by the Class of 1998 through the Shepp Fund)
      * 8' H x 22' Long Record Board (purchased by the booster club)
           This board displays all of the school and pool records for each event.
      * Visiting team bleachers (purchased by the booster club)

    The pool is also rented to residents of the Tamaqua Area School District for parties at an hourly rate of $100.  Residents may arrange pool parties by contacting Mike Hromyak, Athletic Director at 570-668-1901.
